If music can tame a savage breast, why not Infuse wine with music in order to improve its organoleptic qualities in a natural and healthy way thanks to carefully selected musical vibrations and sounds!
This is the experience we offer you with these 2 Chateauneuf du Pape wines, both made with grapes coming from exactly the same plot, with exactly the same blending and with the same process. There is only one difference: we inserted a waterproof speaker in one of the two vats.
Thus during the 45 days of fermentation one of the Chateauneuf du Pape, Père Pape In the Groove, listens to jazz. The vibrations stimulate the vinification’s yeast. The result is outstanding. The wines have a different colour, a different alcohol level and a different taste. However we will let you be the judge!
Sandy-luminous and clay-sandy soil, covered with alpine diluvium with the famous rolled pebbles.
10 000 bottles of Domaine Père Pape and 10 000 bottles of Père Pape In the Groove.
Grenache 60%, Syrah 20%, Mourvèdre 10%, Cinsault 10%.
Age of the vines
50 years old on average.
Harvest is hand-picked in 20 kilo boxes to avoid crushing berries. Manual selection first at the vineyard, then at the cellar. Grapes are then destemmed and gently pressed. Fermentation is the process in which sugars are converted to alcohol and takes place in our large concrete tanks (100 HL) at a constant temperature. This process lasts 4 weeks before being transferred to age in oak barrels. Whereas Domaine Père Pape 2019 followed the same process as our previous vintages, Père Pape In the Groove had a fermentation « listening to Jazz » between 8am and 6pm. Barrel Aging: both wines are aged in big oak = Vats (65 HL) for 18 months. Bottling will be done in March 2021.
Will age well for up to 25 years.
An ambitious wine intended for ageing. The concentrated taste of red berries and eucalyptus notes developed by the syrah offer this cuvée its great complexity. Its palate is warm and reveals fine and tight tannins with peppery notes.
